We love our land and Fribourg's culinary culture, and wanted to share it with our guests. When he decided to rebuild the Chalet des Paccots in 1990, my father couldn’t have imagined that this traditional-style café/restaurant would become such a big name. But now, Le Tsalè is one of the most well-reputed restaurants for classic Fribourg dishes.
For over 30 years, we have had the pleasure of bringing you the very best Fribourg specialities. You can tuck into delicious traditional dishes such as soupe de chalet (a cheese and potato soup), half-and-half or Vacherin cheese fondue, croûte au fromage or croûte forestière (Swiss versions of cheese/mushrooms on toast), jambon de la borne (local smoked ham), macaronis à la crème (a Swiss version of macaroni and cheese) and beef fondue* using local meat given the quality label ‘Viandes de nos Monts’.
As well as these savoury specialities, the canton of Fribourg is also known for the delectable dessert of meringues with double cream.
